Why Does Wedding Makeup And Hair Cost More?

...Than Special Occasion Looks?

Isn’t it a very similar service I hear you cry!! It’s actually super different, and here is why:

So, WHY the higher Price tag?

Look, here’s the thing, we all know weddings can rack up in cost quickly and it can be hard to understand why suppliers charge what they do.  As a working wedding makeup and hair stylist serving 70+ brides per year, trust me, I get it. It can feel like you add the word “wedding” to a service and BAM! You’re hit with double, or TRIPLE?! the cost! WHY?!? Naturally, I am biased and think every bride ( and even groom!) deserves the luxury treat of having her wedding makeup and hair done by an experienced professional, but I know not everyone will agree with me!

We all have different priorities, and that’s OKAY!

Every brides wedding budget ( and what she values) are so different.  And that’s OKAY! It’s your wedding, and you have do what makes YOUR heart sing! So choose those services ( and suppliers!) you adore and choose what works for your wedding .  But what are you paying for when it comes to your bridal service? Here are a few examples why wedding makeup and hair comes with a higher price tag than a party look.

♡ COMMITMENT

We are often blocking dates off months( and years!) in advance.  Once we have taken on a booking we have very little flexibility to adjust our diaries for personal commitments or alternative job opportunities. This is all part of the unwritten job description for a professional!

♡ HIGH DEMAND

There are only 52 weekends in a year and everyone wants to book the same dates for our services! The increased growth of the wedding industry in recent years  means that experienced artists are often booked out for Monday-Thursday weddings too- even in November and December!

♡ OUR SERVICES AREN’T CHARGED BY THE HOUR

Admin, contracts ,invoices emailing, kit inventory, scheduling and cleaning are all behind the scenes work that is needed to bring a professional service to you.

♡ BESPOKE SERVICE

Every detail is carefully discussed and documented ensuring you get exactly what you want on the wedding day.

ON LOCATION SERVICE

[ + Top ups before the ceremony]

Unlike booking in at a salon, where you have to travel to appointment and risk  messing up your look once you leave!

♡ UNSOCIABLE HOURS

Once you factor in travel from our homes to your chosen venue, this can quickly become a very early starts for the artist. I’m no stranger to 4.30am/5am alarms myself!

♡ ONE WEDDING PER DAY

Unlike a salon that takes on multiple clients, we can’t really fit more than one wedding in per day due to ceremony times

♡ EXPERIENCE + EDUCATION

The artists level of experience and continued education to stay up-to-date will naturally make them more expensive.

♡ SCHEDULING + TIME SENSITIVE

Weddings are time sensitive! Experienced artists will know how to manage their time, allowing wriggle room to ensure the whole bridal party is completed in good time so you don’t feel stressed or rushed!

♡ BRINGING A LARGE LUXURY KIT

Our expensive kits cater for every possibility. We bring the latest luxury beauty straight to your door ( or venue) for every hair type, skin tone and texture.

♡ IT’S NOT JUST “ANOTHER DAY”!

Even small, relaxed weddings can cause the most stoic of brides to feel a few butterfly’s! We know how important it is to stay calm and professional for our clients in these moments-taking it in our stride!
